Based in the south of Ireland, Fionn has established himself as a conscientious and respected professional – both as a performer and educator. Since 2010 Fionn has dedicated the vast majority of his time to expanding the popular music education opportunities available in his hometown of Cork - a city long-renowned for its exceptional history of classical music education.
During this time Fionn was Senior Drum Tutor at The Academy of Popular Music - a position he held for 3 years before leaving to commit fully to his current teaching position at the CIT Cork School of Music.
Alongside teaching drum kit and rhythm theory on the school’s new BA (Hons) Popular Music degree - a course he co-authored - Fionn is also one of the degree’s two course co-ordinators.
The CIT Cork School of Music is one of the the best facilities for performing arts education in Europe and currently caters to over 3000 students - both part-time and full-time. Fionn and his CIT CSM colleagues have recently had the pleasure of welcoming UK session drummer Ash Soan as Artist in Residence.
Away from his role as an educator, Fionn has been fortunate enough to perform with notable Irish-based musicians such as Chicago-born soul diva Karen Underwood, musical director / composer John O Brien, West End musical star Rebecca Storm, blues guitarist Nigel Mooney, Chicago-born composer / producer Erik Gullikson, jazz saxophonist Karl Rooney, arranger / pianist Cian Boylan, and original jazz group The Phill Collins Trio.
